I’ve built enough mesh nodes to know that a dangling whip antenna has a habit of getting in the way during prototyping. I designed this compact L-bracket to provide a simple way to mount a fixed SMA antenna to Raspberry Pi and HAT-based builds.
The bracket uses a mounting hole compatible with common M2 and M2.5 hardware, making it suitable for Raspberry Pi mounting points and many HATs and add-on boards.
The SMA opening incorporates a D-shaped flat designed for compatible bulkhead connectors, helping prevent the connector from rotating while the antenna is installed or tightened.
